Set + Setting: How Context Can Shape Your Edible Experience

Your dose matters, but it is only one part of an edible experience. In cannabis, you may hear people talk about set + setting. “Set” means your internal starting point—your mindset, mood, energy, and how you feel before you begin. “Setting” means the environment around you.

Start with your set

Before you take an edible, check in with yourself. Are you tired? Energized? Distracted? Social? Quiet? Have you eaten? Do you have enough time to let the experience unfold without rushing?

You do not need to judge how you feel or try to create a perfect mindset. The goal is simply to notice your starting point.

Then look at your setting

Think about where you will be, who will be there, the noise level, lighting, time of day, and whether you feel comfortable in that environment.

If you are trying a new Honey Bloom Level or a THC product you have not used before, choose a familiar, comfortable setting and give yourself enough time.

Choose the moment before you choose the product

Ask yourself what kind of moment you are creating. A quiet evening, music, journaling, a walk, creative time, or time with people you trust can each create a different context.

Then choose a product and dose that fit both your tolerance and the moment. No setting guarantees a specific effect, and the same product can feel different on different days.

A simple check-in

  • What am I taking?
  • How much THC, if any, is in it?
  • How do I feel right now?
  • Where will I be?
  • Who will I be with?
  • What do I want to do during the experience?
  • Do I have enough time?

Responsible use

If you choose a Honey Bloom product that contains THC, the product page will clearly state Contains THC and list the THC amount per gummy. THC is intoxicating. Start with an amount appropriate for your tolerance, give the product time before taking more, and do not drive or operate machinery after consuming THC. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
