Hemp vs. Cannabis: What You Actually Need to Know

If the words hemp, cannabis, marijuana, CBD, and THC feel confusing, you are not alone. Start with this: hemp is cannabis.

So what is hemp?

In the United States, “hemp” is a legal category of cannabis defined largely by THC concentration. It is not a completely separate plant from cannabis in everyday botanical terms.

What does marijuana mean?

“Marijuana” is commonly used for cannabis that falls outside the federal hemp definition or is regulated through state medical or adult-use cannabis programs.

Can hemp contain THC?

Yes. Hemp can contain THC as long as it meets the applicable legal definition and requirements. Honey Bloom’s current online THC gummies are hemp-derived THC products.

What is the difference between CBD and THC?

CBD and THC are both cannabinoids found in cannabis. THC is intoxicating. CBD is non-intoxicating. Honey Bloom also uses CBG and CBN in select formulas.

Why does this matter when you shop?

You should not have to decode legal categories to understand a product. On Honey Bloom product pages, look first for whether the product is THC-free or Contains THC, then look at the cannabinoid amount per gummy.
